The story behind RestaurantOS

Built by Navneet Tech Labs — an independent dev studio in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.

The Problem

Why RestaurantOS exists

Walk into most independent restaurants in India and you will find the same scene: a stack of paper menus that haven't been updated in months, a billing machine from 2012, and a kitchen that relies on shouted orders and handwritten KOT slips. The result? Missed orders, wrong bills, frustrated customers, and owners who can't tell you their best-selling dish without guessing.

The big POS companies sell expensive hardware bundles and lock you into multi-year contracts. The modern SaaS tools are built for American and European markets — wrong currency, wrong workflow, wrong assumptions about how an Indian kitchen operates.

RestaurantOS was built to fill that gap: a lightweight, web-based operating system that works the way Indian restaurants actually work — KOT-first, QR-based, mobile-friendly, and priced for a single-outlet café owner, not a chain with a tech budget.

Navneet Tech Labs is an independent software studio — not a VC-funded startup with 50 employees and a sales team. That is a deliberate choice, and it is a strength.

When you use RestaurantOS, you get direct access to the team that designs, builds, and maintains the product. No support ticket queue. No account manager who has never seen the codebase. Your feature request goes straight to the people writing the code.

We are small enough to care about every single restaurant on our platform, and fast enough to ship a fix the same day you report a bug.

What that means for you

Built for India first

Designed around the Indian restaurant workflow — from KOT tickets to UPI payments to Hindi/English support. Every feature is battle-tested against real dhabas, cafés, and fine-dining restaurants.

Direct founder support

No call-center runaround. When you reach out, you talk to the team that built the product. Bug reports get fixed in hours, not weeks. Feature requests go straight to the roadmap.

Fast iteration, honest communication

We ship updates weekly. If something breaks, we tell you before you find it. If a feature isn't ready, we say so instead of putting up a 'coming soon' page.
